SHRM PDC 6.5 Course Credit

This course focuses on learning Excel formulas and functions and their applications in various HR scenarios. Learn a variety of Excel functions for tackling quantitative tasks for effective decision making. Orient your approach towards automating tasks with logical functions and reducing tedious labour with Excel time savers.

Excel Data Analysis for
HR Professionals

Microsoft Excel as a savvy tool for enabling quantitative and research skills. HR data is either entered manually in Excel or downloaded from HRIS. For an evidence-based approach, it must be analyzed and summarized to reveal key indicators. Ordinarily, gleaning action-ready information from a large dataset could be challenging for many. This course focuses on Excel tools that will add to your perceptiveness and insight into data for effective decision making.

Learn to create and maintain well formatted data in Excel. Use the advance tools and complex criteria to filter and query the data. Create and apply custom criteria for sorts and nested sub-totals. Use PivotTable to create complex, well formatted summary reports effortlessly. Apply formula based conditional formatting to sort and filter visually. As well, create a dynamic HR dashboard in the class to reveal and monitor key indicators. Access Database for
HR Professionals

SHRM PDC 6.5 Course Credit

Microsoft Access is a widely-used desktop database application for business, commercial, and industrial purposes. As a relational database, it organizes data into tables that can be interconnected. Additionally, it features a robust query tool, enabling users to retrieve information from the database for reporting and decision-making purposes.

The Access for HR & Admin Professional course is an introductory program tailored for HR and Admin personnel eager to discover how MS Access can significantly benefit a Human Resources department. The practical exercises are HR-centric, providing a solid foundation in desktop database creation. Participants will learn to construct a new Access database with employee data, establish Table Relationships, and develop Queries, Forms, and Reports. Additionally, the course enhances confidence in managing existing databases, given that databases form the core of all HRIS software. Prerequisites: At least six months of experience working in Windows environment with mouse. Some keyboard skills also required. Some experience of working with Excel is desirable but not necessary.
